Kevin Spacey to Face Civil Trial in UK Over Sexual Assault Allegations

Hollywood star Kevin Spacey is set to return to UK courts to face a civil trial over sexual assault allegations. The trial, scheduled for early next year, will see the accuser, who has been granted anonymity, claiming he suffered “psychiatric damage and other financial loss” due to the alleged assault by Spacey.

This development comes just a day after a Channel 4-Max documentary aired featuring new allegations against the Oscar winner. Spacey’s legal team was in court today to respond to a judgment favoring the accuser, as they reportedly failed to file his defense in time. Spacey himself was not present.

This is not the first time Spacey has faced legal troubles. In June, he was found not guilty on nine charges, including sexual assault, at London’s Southwark Crown Court. The incidents related to the charges were alleged to have occurred between 2001 and 2013.

Spacey also won a US civil lawsuit in October 2022, where he had been accused of an unwanted sexual advance at a party in 1986. The new Channel 4 documentary, “Spacey Unmasked,” aired allegations against the actor spanning from 1976 to 2013, prompting Piers Morgan to offer a “fair” interview in Spacey’s defense.

Despite the allegations, Spacey has denied them, claiming the network did not give him enough time to respond. He took to Dan Wootton’s YouTube channel to make a statement, saying, “I take full responsibility for my past behavior and my actions. But I cannot and will not take responsibility or apologize to anyone who’s made up stuff about me or exaggerated stories about me.”
