Northwestern Students Embrace “Camp Dillo” Theme with Outdoor-Inspired Fashion Choices
Northwestern students are gearing up for Dillo Day 2024 with the theme “Camp Dillo” inspiring a wave of outdoor-themed fashion choices. From stacked friendship bracelets to hiking boots, students are getting creative with their festival outfits.
Collaborating with Stitch Magazine, Mayfest Productions has been showcasing camp-centric outfits on social media, featuring everything from tropical colors and patterns to girl scout-inspired ensembles. Students like Weinberg freshman Riley Hause are stepping out of their comfort zones with colorful tube tops, cargo skirts, and plenty of fun accessories.
Others, like Medill freshman Marcus Kim, are drawing inspiration from pop culture icons like Indiana Jones. Kim plans to stay cool in the projected heat with breathable materials like elastic shorts and a button-down shirt, accessorizing with a camouflage bandana.
Despite the practical considerations, students like Hause see Camp Dillo as a chance to escape reality and express themselves creatively. The festival promises a space for fun and freedom of expression, allowing attendees to let their imaginations run wild.
As the excitement builds for Dillo Day, students are eagerly preparing their outfits to make a statement at the Lakefill. Whether drawing inspiration from nature, pop culture, or their own creative instincts, Northwestern students are ready to embrace the spirit of “Camp Dillo” and make the most of this annual tradition.
