May TV Show Renewals and Cancellations: What’s Coming Back and What’s Saying Goodbye
As May showers bring flowers, they also bring news of TV show renewals and cancellations. With upfronts in full swing, networks are making decisions about the fate of your favorite shows. CBS has already revealed its fall schedule, but ABC, Fox, The CW, and NBC are still finalizing their plans.
NBC has kicked off the month with some renewals, including Season 3 of the popular comedy Night Court, as well as renewals for Lopez vs. Lopez and Deal or No Deal Island. However, not all shows were as lucky, as the new sitcom Extended Family has been canceled after just one season.
ABC has also announced renewals for a trio of its favorite game shows, while Paramount+ with Showtime has renewed The Chi for a seventh season and Lioness for a second season.
