Hong Kong Star Jackson Wang Plans to Leave Showbiz for a Simpler Life
Hong Kong star Jackson Wang, known for his time in the spotlight as a former member of K-Pop boyband GOT7, is now considering leaving showbiz for a simpler life. In a recent interview on the TVB variety show Star Trail, Wang opened up about his desire to step away from the industry after a decade of non-stop work.
Reflecting on the past 10 years of his life, Wang expressed feeling like he had been inside a machine, constantly running without truly experiencing the world around him. Now at 30 years old, he is ready to slow down and focus on living in the present moment.
“I feel like I’ve missed out on so much because all I did was keep running. Now that I’m 30, I want to just take it a little slow and enjoy the ‘now’,” Wang shared with host Luisa Maria Leitao.
The singer also revealed that he has not had a fixed home in the last decade, constantly moving between Europe and South Korea. Despite his success, Wang longs for a sense of stability and a place where his loved ones can be present.
When it comes to marriage, Wang is in no rush but has given himself until the age of 35 to find love. He emphasized the importance of finding happiness and contentment in a world filled with comparisons and expectations.
Wang debuted in 2014 with GOT7 before pursuing a solo career in 2017. His latest album, Magic Man, reached No. 15 on the Billboard 200 albums chart, showcasing his continued success in the music industry.
Despite his fame, Wang is known for his humble persona and genuine interactions with fans around the world. In 2022, he was even spotted in Malaysia at IOI City Mall, enjoying local mamak food and connecting with his supporters on a more personal level.
As Wang contemplates his future outside of showbiz, fans are eager to see where his journey will take him next.
